Requirements Management

In any development project, a core success factor is to define requirements formally and independently of implementation technology.

Hypercube can deliver a formal model of business terms, definitions and (business) relationships, as a pre-requisite to developing database schemes and message schemas. This can be used within an Enterprise Data Management (EDM) project or integration. It may also be used to dramatically simplify the connection of terms between different systems, databases and message formats. Each format can then be mapped to a true business representation of the terms in it.

Search Capabilities

With a fully featured language of business terms and relationships, it becomes possible to carry out searches on large collections of data terms.

Hypercube will work with clients to capture business semantics using global semantic standards. We start by capturing the language of terms. We then extend this with relationships and other semantics information to complete an ontology, or to capture enough of the relationship information to be useful.

What we offer

• Creation of a business repository of business terms, definitions and relationships. These will cover a defined area of the business such as securities trading, treasury operations and so on as relevant to your business.
• Mapping business terms between applications and/or message formats and the overall business ontology;
• Creation of system ontologies and/or business requirements documentation. Where required, these can be 'reverse-engineered' from system documentation to enable other work.
• Ontology models are delivered as an OWL ontology file, or as a UML� package configured with standard OWL extensions. In the latter option, these are delivered either in a popular UML� editor format such as Enterprise Architect or MagicDraw, or as an exported XMI file.
• We will deliver the results in spreadsheets as part of a formal requirements definition package.
• We are also able to deliver presentations and training to help users to interpret OWL files.
